Cauliflower Wontons
Wontons look complicated, but they’re actually a lot easier to make than you imagined! These cauliflower wontons are my healthy version of what I grew up eating at the noodle shops back in Taiwan, stuffed with only 2-simple ingredients. And the cauliflower makes them extra juicy!
Ingredients:
- Wonton wrappers (make sure they’re specifically for wontons - dumpling wrappers are thicker, which makes it less yummy in my opinion!)
- 2 cups of frozen cauliflower rice
- 1 pack of ground chicken
- 2 tbsp of oyster sauce
- Garlic powder
- Chicken broth (THIS is the one I use, HAOHUNGRY for 10% off!)
Instructions:
- To make the filling first, thaw the frozen cauliflower rice, wonton wrappers, and ground chicken for an hour before you make the wontons
- Once thawed, fold the cauliflower rice and ground chicken together - mix thoroughly
- Add in the oyster sauce and sprinkle in enough garlic powder to cover surface
- Use your hands to fold everything evenly
- Once you have made the filling, fill a bowl up with water before making the wontons - this is for dabbing the corners of the wontons so they stick together
- Put a sheet of wonton skin in the center of your palm and scoop about a tsp of filling onto the middle of the sheet
- Dab some water onto your fingertips and line all four sides of the wonton skin
- Place each side of the wonton skin onto your two index fingers and two thumbs and bring them together
- Seal up the wonton well where all the sides meet and that’s one complete wonton!
- Cook wonton in your choice of broth or stock alongside some noodles (I love THESE!)
- Sprinkle on some chopped green onions and serve hot!
